High Plains Percussion Academy is thrilled to announce the return of Dawson Leffingwell as a staff clinician for the July 2023 camp.

“I’m so excited to be involved with this organization again,” he said. “The mission of this program speaks to me, and I can’t wait to get to work in year number two.”

Dawson first joined the HPPA staff as the primary visual coordinator in 2022, and will be returning in 2023 as a full-time staff member for both visual and battery instruction.

Dawson is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s in Music Education, and marched with Resistance Indoor Percussion and Compass Drum & Bugle Corps.

High Plains Percussion Academy is a five-day camp of comprehensive percussion education centered around marching and concert percussion. Developed, curated, and delivered by experienced educators, HPPA aims to raise the minimum threshold of education for middle school and high school percussion students in the high plains region.
